Apple has announced that it will expand it’s iTunes Festival to the US for the first time ever. The event will take place at the ACL Live at the Moody Theater, home of Austin City Limits, from March 11-15. The live event will feature recording artists like Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Pitbull, Keith Urban, ZEDD and more. Apple Smartphone Market Share Grown To 53.3% In U.S. However, Android Holds Strong in Europe

Research firm Kantar Worldpanel has released data about the Smartphone market share for the September-November period in 2011 and 2012. It shows that Apple has set a record high with 53.3% of the market, compare to 35.8% one year ago. However, Apple is doing less in Europe, where it grow 2.5% compared to last year. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster today released a report about a U.S. teenagers survey “from over over 7,700 teenagers”, showing that 40% of respondents currently own an iPhone “which was only 34% 6 months ago”. JumpTap created a report that shows that consumers in the South and Southwest of the U.S. tend to be Android-biased compared to the rest of the country, while those in the Midwest and Northeast lean towards iOS. California, Texas and Florida over-index for Android use and states in New England and the Midwest over-index for iOS use. Blackberry use, which over-indexed in New York, was also included in the geographic data.
