Research firm Kantar Worldpanel has released data about the Smartphone market share for the September-November period in 2011 and 2012. It shows that Apple has set a record high with 53.3% of the market, compare to 35.8% one year ago. However, Apple is doing less in Europe, where it grow 2.5% compared to last year. Niantic Labs “Google Smartphone App Team” released a new multiplayer gaming platform for mobile users that turns your real-world location into a virtual world. The game is called “Ingress” and uses a built-in scatter map technology to add a virtual layer to the real world, it leads you to real statues and landmarks to continue the game. In the game a strange energy has been discovered by European scientists and must be controlled before it controls you. Philips has announced hue, a new iOS-controlled LED home lighting system which allows you to create and control the light using your smartphone or tablet and is only available in the Apple stores from 30th October. You can emulate nearly any color, as well as personalize the lighting experience with a wide array of dimmer and scheduling options. Bloomberg reported that Amazon is currently working with Foxconn on a new smartphone product, one that would compete head-to-head with the iPhone and Android devices.
A smartphone would give Amazon a wider range of low-priced hardware devices that bolster its strategy of making money from digital books, songs and movies. It would help Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos — who made a foray into tablets with the Kindle Fire — carve out a slice of the market for advanced wireless handsets.
