Mariner Software announced that they will bring a native iPhone excell editing solution to the AppStore. We already learned that the new firmware will be able to view iWork and MS office documents, but apple didn’t mention anything about being able to edit them. Mariner software’s president, Michael Wray informed MacWorld that his Mariner Calc sofware is 80 to 90% complete and should be ready by the time the appstore opens.

The guys from FlixWagon are preparing a video broadcasting app that they will will encode the video on the fly and send it to their servers. It’s currently running on a jailbroken iPhone but they should be ready to release it publicly when the AppStore is ready. The app has no limit and should run as long as your iPhone battery lasts. The delay should be no more than 3 seconds. Not much information is available but i did manage to find a movie demoing the little application.

It seems that some people are investigating the Keynote with really big lenses. During the keynote presentation Phil Shiller was playing around with his iPhone, and some of you think that his iPhone 3G had a front-facing camera. I personally think this is some finger grease, although it’s possible that the light reflection is indeed a camera, but what do you guys think? Video and pictures after the break.

I came across this new article from Walt Mossberg, the well known personal technologist column writer from the Wall Street Journal. Normally i wouldn’t post this as it’s not really iPhone 3G related, but it’s funny that Walt Mossberg names the iPhone 31 times in a review for the Samsung Instinc (that he only names about 19 times :))

According to a 9to5mac report. The new iPhone 3G will support tethering. Tethering is the process of connecting your laptop or any other portable device to your iPhone for internet connectivity. This wasn’t possible with the current iPhone model. Many of us have been requesting this feature and it seems that apple has been listening to it’s customers.
