Bloomberg reported that the new gen iPad will feature a higher-resolution display, Retina probably, a quad-core processor and is expected to go on sale in March.
The companys manufacturing partners in Asia started ramping up production of the iPad 3 this month and plan to reach full volumes by February, said one of the people, who asked not to be named because the details are not public. The tablet will use a quad-core chip, an enhancement that lets users jump more quickly between applications, two of the people said.

Jeremy Horwitz from iLounge tweeted multiple details from sources regarding the next iPad. The front camera will reportedly become a FaceTime HD camera and the back camera is supposedly in line with either the iPhone 4 or 4S. 9to5mac heard that Apple was prototyping next-generation iPads with eight megapixel sensors during the last summer, so it probably will be a 5 or 8 megapixel camera. MacRumors points us to a Korean forum with a photo claimed to be an image of the upcoming iPad 3 Display panel. Macrumors said the top image represents the current iPad 2 screen, while the bottom image is the supposed iPad 3 display. CydiaBlog posted something interesting they found on the TVC Mall website. They found parts for the iPad 3 which is rumored to be released in the first months of 2012. In the picture above you can see a replacement part for the microphone on the iPad 3, and it is interesting to see that there are some pretty major changes compared to the iPad 2 microphone part. “The new part, when compared with iPad 2, shows a different arrangement in internal circuitry, hinting a major re-design. The tail end of the part makes a “U-turn”, whereas the iPad 2s Microphone Mic Flex Cable makes almost 90-degree turn both ways. Except for few details, the leaked part so far doesn’t offer a tantalizing tease.”
