Apple has released a revised version of the recently released iOS 5.1.1. This new build is labeled 9B208 and is only available for the GSM iPhone 4. It is not sure why Apple released a new version for the iPhone 4 only, but most likely it fixes a small bug that only occurs on the iPhone 4. The new build is only available for new iOS 5.1.1 iPhone 4 (GSM) installs and will not be available as an update for users currently on the original build.

Pod2g is working on an Untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 5.1.1 called Absinthe 2.0 and According to pod2g, the release of the untethered jailbreak does not appear to be that far off. pod2g tweeted ” Thanks to awesome work of @planetbeing and @pimskeks, we’re near ready for a release. Now it’s a matter of days”.

The iPhone DevTeam has updated redsn0w to v0.9.11b4 which completes the tethered JB support for 5.1.1 on A4 devices and earlier, including proper “Stitching” and “Custom” creation of NO_BB IPSWs.

Apple has just released iOS 5.1.1 (build number 9B206) for iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone. The download is 54.4 MB and includes: Improved reliability of using HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut, Addresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks, Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in some circumstances, Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List and Fixes an issue where ‘Unable to purchase’ alert could be displayed after successful purchase.
