Launched today, the iPhone/iOS to Windows Phone 7 API mapping tool helps developers find their way around when they discover the Windows Phone platform. Think of the API mapping tool as being like a translation dictionary. For example, let’s say that you’re planning a vacation to France. Since you don’t speak the language, you’ll bring a pocket travel dictionary. Having this tool will surely help you to get some idea about what you are ordering from a restaurant menu but you’ll have no idea what the actual recipe is — nor will you be able to have a conversion in French with the server! But that’s a great learning tool to make the first steps. With this tool, iPhone developers can grab their apps, pick out the iOS API calls, and quickly look up the equivalent classes, methods and notification events in WP7. A developer can search a given iOS API call and find the equivalent WP7 along with C# sample codes and API documentations for both platforms. The code samples allow developers to quickly migrate short blobs of iOS code to the equivalent C# code. All WP7 API documentations are pulled in from the Silverlight, C# and XNA sources on MSDN. » API Mapping Tool: iPhone/iOS To Windows Phone 7
Apple has disabled a jailbreak detection API, but no one knows why. Apple did this without any explanation. This jailbreak detection API could see if your iDevice is modified or not, and disables the feature to sync with iTunes. This can mean two thinks. One, Apple finally surrendered and let jailbreakers do his thing “but that’s very unlikely”, or Apple found an other way to stop people from jailbreaking their iDevice. We don’t have more information yet but will let you know when we do. » Apple Disabled Jailbreak Detection API
Cydia Ready For iOS 4.2

iOS 4.2 is not released yet, but the update of Cydia is ready to go public. Developer @chpwn and Saurik developed an update for Cydia because there has been some changes in a lot of API’s. Because iOS 4.2 has been delayed “with probably one week or so” Cydia will also wait. Cydia will be released quickly after the release of iOS 4.2 and will have some technical and design changes.
Earlier today i received a e-mail from Fring. just wanted to let you know that today we’ve opened-up the fring platform by introducing the fringAPI. We’re making it available for free, to any developer who wants to create new mobile applications or offer their own web services to the fring community. We’re very excited about this, as with the fringAPI we are adding mobile applications by welcoming in an entire world of talented developers (they only need a working knowledge of basic server-side language such as PHP, JSP, ASPX etc and XML). These mobile applications will bring users a richer experience and, potentially, an unlimited selection of mobile games, services, communities and more.
