Apple has announced the financial results for the third calendar quarter and fourth fiscal quarter of 2012. For the quarter, Apple posted revenue of $36.0 billion and net quarterly profit of $8.2 billion by selling 26.9 million iPhones, 14 million iPads, 4.9 million Macs, and 5.3 million iPods. Apple reported a total revenue profit of $41.7 billion for fiscal 2012, in fiscal 2011, Apple mad a profit of $25.9 billion. It is official, Apple started sending out invitations for its September 12 Media Event where they will announce the iPhone 5. If you take a look at the shadow in the picture above you will clearly see a “5”, suggesting that Apple’s next iPhone will indeed be called the iPhone 5. The media event is scheduled for next week Wednesday, September 12. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern. Apple journalist Jim Dalrymple has posted a cryptic message suggesting that Apple will hold two separate media events this fall for the new iPhone and iPad mini.
