Research firm Kantar Worldpanel has released data about the Smartphone market share for the September-November period in 2011 and 2012. It shows that Apple has set a record high with 53.3% of the market, compare to 35.8% one year ago. However, Apple is doing less in Europe, where it grow 2.5% compared to last year. The Wall Street Journal reports that Google is working on a new phone, via its newly acquired Motorola Mobility and will be released next year. The phone “codenamed X Phone” is designed to compete more strongly with the iPhone, and Samsung’s Galaxy line, than Motorola’s current lineup. Google Maps has finally been released on December 12 and five days later, ad management platform MoPub noticed a 29 percent increase in unique iOS 6 users. The data from MoPub suggests that quite a few iDevice owners were waiting for a better mapping solution before upgrading to Apple’s newest operating system.
