There are tons of Tweet applications for the iPad but they all look similar. Crest for iPad ($1,99) will change the way we Tweet thanks to a new user interface with a timeline, a button to open up a tweet sheet, and several more advanced features like direct messaging, tweet quoting, translating and more. It looks cool and smooth but is it really that handy, the app has a plain black background with falling tiles of Twitter user profile pictures. A user taps the small icon and then that particular users tweet will popup. See video after the break. » Crest: New Way To View Tweets On Your iPad

Patently Apple dug up a patent related to building 3D avatars, which could be for GameCenter or a number of other areas where you would want to create an online personality:
Earlier today we introduced Apples 3D Avatar App which covered a basic overview of the new application in the works. Now a second patent application has surfaced and it actually shows that the app is already running on an iPad! We have the screenshot to prove it. The new patent application focuses on how the app will work with color palettes and more. The big news however is that the new 3D Avatar App is in its final stages of development and that’s very cool. Evidently phase-one of the application is geared for the younger crowd, but other editions could be in the works as discussed in our first report today.

Nokia, one of the world’s leading mobile device manufacturers has developed a new piece of alert technology which the company hopes to patent and incorporate into the design of all future Nokia phones. The technology, which has been described as a “magnetic tattoo” is certainly groundbreaking, involving the use of metal ores which would create a sensation of tingling in the arm of the phone user, requiring them to scratch it in order to stop the alert, but providing a guaranteed way of ensuring that the user knows when they have a call on their phone or when the battery needs charging. » Vibrating “tattoo” Alerts For Nokia Phones
