Apple has finally released OS X Lion 10.7.4 to the this afternoon and can be downloaded via the Software Update. The update file is 729.6MB and fixes the horrible bug in OS X 10.7.3 that stored passwords in plain text, along with many other stability improvements among other things. It also includes Safari 5.1.6.

Apple has lowered the prices of the Original iPad and the iPad 2s. The Original iPad can now be bought for only $279 and the iPad 2 starts at the price of just $319, thats a price drop of $30. “Higher capacity iPads are dropped as low as $50 over prices set when Apple debuted the new iPad in March.”
It looks like Apple is testing notification messages on the iCloud.com website, which looks similar to the notification system in iOS 5. “The notification currently only displays the text “Default Title for English- This is test message description”, so its obvious Apple let this one slip accidentally. The icon sitting on the notification banner is the icon Apple uses to signify troubleshooting, help, and system status. It’s very possible that this notification is a test for possible iCloud service status notifications in the future.”
Apple has just released iOS 5.1.1 (build number 9B206) for iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone. The download is 54.4 MB and includes: Improved reliability of using HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut, Addresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks, Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in some circumstances, Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List and Fixes an issue where ‘Unable to purchase’ alert could be displayed after successful purchase.
Nobody knows what the next iPhone will be called, some say it will be “The new iPhone” and some say it will be called “iPhone 5”. One this is for sure, Apple is trying to gain control of iPhone5.com.
Fusible notes that Apple has filed a claim with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) seeking to gain control of the iPhone5.com domain. WIPO authorities are currently assessing compliance of Apple’s claim with the agency’s regulations, and proceedings are likely to be initiated in the near future.
