The new Beta “3” of OS 4.0 has been released for developers. But what…. Its already removed and changed to Beta “2” again. Yea that’s right avoid Beta 3, it is not sure why Apple removed Beta 3 but it is probably something serious “overheating/trashing of SDK folders” or something like that. But some developers got the change to test Beta 3, and we know some new features and fixes. » iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3 Released & Removed Again!

iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 2 is just realeased and after some testing “by developers” its sure there is still some work that needs to be done. The camera isn’t working at all! You can take some pictures but they will not be saved, so the camera is useless at this point. Its also impossible to take screenshots on your iDevice. And last but not least is when you choose the wallpaper it would just hang and you will have to hard reset the device. But there are also a view little improvements like email icons, multitasking transition, improved slider graphics and new way to choose a wallpaper background, as you can see in the movie above. » iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 2 Bugs And Features

redsn0w-300The Dev Team has released a beta version of Redsn0w for Mac OS X to jailbreak OS 4.0 on the iPhone 3G. Redsn0w 0.9.5 is actually meant for developers who are creating Cydia Apps and not for the normal iDevice users because it still got a lot of bugs “like always in beta versions”.

But if you would like to try Redsn0w 0.9.5 beta “which is not recommended” you first need a registered developers license and install OS 4.0 beta 1. If you would like to jailbreak use the Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta “How To” after the break. » HOW TO: Jailbreak OS 4.0 With Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta [jailbreak]

iPhone-3G-OS-4.0-WallpaperIn a previous post we told you that multitasking will be possible on older iDevices when you jailbreak your device and edit the plist-file called N82AP.plist (3G). But that’s not the only feature that will be disabled on older iDevices in OS 4.0. When you got a iDevice older than the iPhone 3GS or the 3th generation iPod Touch, a costum backround will also be disabled in OS 4.0. But guess what, there is always a solution. In the OS 4.0 keynote Steve Jobs told us that multitasking will only be available on the iPhone 3GS and the 3e generation iPod Touch. This is a disappointment for the older iDevice owners. But luckily “Will Strafach” informed us that multitasking will be available on older iDevices when you jailbreak your device and edit the plist-file called N82AP.plist (3G). And he was right, because @DarkMalloc uploaded a movie on YouTube showing multitasking on the iPhone 3G, which works fine. » iPhone OS 4.0 Multitasking On iPhone 3G
