I’ve had some users on iPhoneFreakz who have this problem with firmware 2.0+. The solution for this will require you to do some hacking but i’ll guid you through it. First you will need to make sure you have Cydia and that your device has been Pwned (WinPwn, QuickPwn or PwnageTool). Then you will need to install OpenSSH from Cydia.

MiVTones the successor of VideosTones has finally been released into Cydia, making it compatible with firmware 2.0. There are almost no new features except for the ability to disable the sound and vibration of ringtones. One important change compared to VideosTones is that you now will have to pay 19.99$ to get the full version, allowing you to individually set videoringtones per contact.

Yesterday apple posted the second beta of the iPhone 2.1 software to developers for testing. Some developers are reporting they have since recieved the tools from apple to create background apps. Apple told us it would not officially be released to devs until September.
