Its only been a week since apple gave developers beta 1 of the iphone 2.1 firmware and now they have already released a second. The new version appears to have mainly bug fixes.

MxTube, a YouTube video downloader, was one of my favorite applications back on my 1.1.4 jailbroken iPhone. It allows you to search through YouTube videos, much like the actual YouTube app, and download them directly to your phone to watch whenever you want with no loading time. The iPhone DevTeam have released the new PwnageTool that supports the new 2.0 firmware. Currently, it is for Macs only. To download it, go here. It supports both the first generation and 3G iPhone, although unlocking for the iPhone 3G is not yet available.

I came across this new article from Walt Mossberg, the well known personal technologist column writer from the Wall Street Journal. Normally i wouldn’t post this as it’s not really iPhone 3G related, but it’s funny that Walt Mossberg names the iPhone 31 times in a review for the Samsung Instinc (that he only names about 19 times :))
