Wired confirmed that Apple will start pre-orders of the iPhone 5 at 12:01 AM Pacific Time / 3:01 AM Eastern Time today “14 September”. So if you cant wait to get your hands on the iPhone 5, set your alarm and get you iPhone 5 here. Last year when Apple released the iPhone 4S, they experienced significant issues with online processing for quite some time after they started the pre-orders of the iPhone 4S. So maybe you have better luck pre-ordering your iPhone 5 at Sprint, AT&T or Verizon.

The new iPhone 5 will be available for purchase in Apple retail stores beginning at 8 a.m. local time on Sept. 21.
