Paper Camera: Huge Update & Huge Sales: 110k Downloads In A Month

Paper Camera has been topping the charts since its launch, and they did it without any marketing budget, but solely through customer satisfaction. Paper Camera has been chosen by Apple as “App of the week” in some countries, and has been featured by Apple in pretty much every country, reviews and feedbacks have been extremely positive, showing that quality and talent are still what people truly appreciate.
JFDP Labs are a small start-up team and they are very proud and humbled by such a positive response, and, even if they used to be part of great AAA game companies which sold millions of copies of their blockbuster games, every single email and review means much much more to them, it feels like there is a connection with them, and that is a very powerful feeling.
When JFDP Labs launched Paper Camera it was missing of a function for importing existing pictures, within days there were flooded by requests to add such feature, the team started immediately to work on it and released it just a week later.
JFDP Labs would like to stress that they do not use/copy/collect any GPS or location data in their app, they have used a new version of the photo-library that allows great customization and such library requires “Location Services” to be activated, in case you want to geo-tag your pictures. Paper Camera though will not user/copy/collect any data but it cannot remove that warning because it is embedded in the operative system. That’s the only reason. JFDP Labs is working to rectify this issue probably using an older version of that library that does not require Location Services.
If you do not know yet what Paper Camera is all about this is how JFDP Labs describe it:
“What if you could see your everyday life, your house, your street, your school, your family as a sketch up, a cartoon, a comic book, and old paper or as a crayon draw? Paper Camera delivers instant gratification, amazes you, and it can do it anywhere, at anytime.”
JFDP Labs have developed many photography apps and their main focus has always been to be on the cutting edge of mobile camera/photography technology. With Paper Camera, they are pushing those boundaries even further. All the processing is done in real-time on the camera video feed. Those filters/effects are so complex they would require few seconds to compute for a normal post-processing camera app. With Paper Camera you can actually see them in real time.
Paper Camera includes 11 cool cartoon/comic filters to start with:
* Cartoon (manga style)
* Sketch up
* Acquarello (watercolor)
* Old Half tone
* Neon crayons
* Dirty pencil
* Old comic book
* 20’s Noir
* Granny’s Paper
* Half tone (but we call it half-ton cos we want to be cool!)
* Pastel Perfect
Future updates will bring in as many as 20 filters. A simple, unique and stylish user interface will let you adjust, always in real time, filters/effects settings, tweaking your shots to perfection.
