There has always been a war going on between Apple and Google and because Apple launched the Apple TV, Google response hard. The Google TV can be some serious competition for the Apple TV. Google showed of apps and content for their upcoming TV in a Quick Tour.
Google is working with Sony and Logitech to build their software platform into their equipment. The Google TV will get TV, Apps, Search and the entire Web. “Google TV will have apps right from the start like Twitter, Pandora, Napster and Amazon Video On Demand as well as custom offerings from CNBC and the NBA, and with access to the Android Market “starting early next year.”
Apple TV jailbreakers/developers better create some interesting applications otherwise people will purchase the Google TV instead.

The Google TV is impressive, but one thing, I’m not about to go out and buy another TV! Sorry, but $500, $800, or $999, just not worth replacing my current Samsung 40″ LCD! Though to be fair, Google TV looks impressive, and if I was tv shopping, it would be on my list of things to consider. But since I’m not shopping for a new TV and Apple TV is only $99…. If Apple, or the jailbreak community, opens it up to apps and safari, then apple will get my money.

google tv is NOT a TV. It is like Apple TV, just a set top box.
