Pocket-lint got a word from the DSG Group (the owners of Dixons, Currys and PC World) with some information about the “iPad Killer” Samsung Galaxy Tab. They said it will be available in the UK for £599.99 (about $950 US), for a contract-free option. That’s not cheap because you can get an unlocked iPad with similar specs for £529 (though the iPad has a screen almost three inches larger than the 7-inch Galaxy Tab).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab hits the shops on 1 November. We don’t have any contract prices but the tablet will be sold by the four major US carriers by the end of the year.
