iphone 720p video recordingSinds SDK 3.2, SDK users are looking for hints about the next Gen iDevices. This time there is a new hint that maybe the next iPhone will get 720p video playback and recording.

The MediaValidator now allows videos of 1280 pixels and a total 921,000 pixel. That is enough for 1280×720 resolution of 720p.

There is a rumor that the next iPhone will get a 5MP camera. That could explain this 720p video rumor.

The iPhone will not be the first that could play or record 720p video files, the iPad can play them to and some other mobile devices like the Samsung Omnia HD can already play and record 720p videos.
