supermario64The first Nintendo 64 emulator, ‘N64iphone’, is now available in the Cydia Store. The first version (o.6.1) is pretty complete. It doesn’t support save states and landscape mode, but the emulator can be controlled with the touchscreen and the accelerometer as well as the Nintendo Wii Controller via Bluetooth.

The emulator doesn’t work with all games. The classic game GoldenEye is not playable at all. To enhance the performance of the emulator, frame skipping can be used and the sound can be turned off. N64iphone supports .n64 and .z64 ROMS and the archive-types .zip and .7z. The games you own legally can be downloaded through the application. The app uses OpenGL ES 2.0 and is therefore only suitable for iPhone 3GS and the 3rd generation iPod touch.
