One of the more known apps that had a high price-tag was the app called “I am rich”, which did nothing but show the icon of a diamond, but you had to pay a stunning $999 for it. Apple quickly removed it from the App Store after people started complaining. Although the “I am rich” app was just a showoff piece, there are apps with almost the same price but that really are handy.
The most expensive app in the App Store is called “iRa Pro” and enables you to follow live feeds of camera’s on your iPhone. The app costs 900 dollars. And so far there have been more then 5 buyers, says the creator of the app. Below is an overview of the top 10 most expensive apps in the App Store. With TomTom having released their navigation software app for the iPhone for 100 dollars or more, they take a place somewhere in the top 25 of most expensive apps.
The TOP 10 (from lowest to highest with 10 being the highest priced app):
  1. XA1 $179,99– an audio analysis app that gives “realtime feedback of the audio spectrum” when mixing or doing other audio related work.
  2. Interpath $179,99 – Provides remote access to pathology images for medical professionals, used for cancer diagnosis or other disease treatments. Requires an image server like Aperio.
  3. Nursing Constellation Plus $179,99– Nursing and medical reference app. Includes access to drug dosing calculation tools, medical dictionary, calculator, etc.
  4. ROSIE Home Automation $199,99 – ROSIE home automation system users can control their a/v systems, lighting, security, and other services. Requires a ROSIE system.
  5. iDcrm $199,99 – The “first full” Microsoft Dynamics CRM app for the iPhone.
  6. Lexi Dental Complete $299,99 – Tied for the most expensive in Lexi’s suite of medical reference apps. In essence, everything a dentist could possibly need in an iPhone app except a credit card swiper. Over 160 radiographs and more than 1,000 photos.
  7. Mobile Cam Viewer $349,99 – Watch and control several flavors of live surveillance cameras.
  8. PDR Quote $349,99 – Business software for auto repair: Create quotes and invoices, includes huge database of cars, forms you can personalize, etc.
  9. MATG SAP Business One $449,99 – Hooks into SAP’s BusinessOne financial management software. Designed for sales reps or marketing/finance execs. Also available for Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  10. iRA Pro $899 – iRa Pro is used to view and manage super-expensive enterprise surveillance camera installations. Clients could include corporations, schools, government, etc.
