Dev Team: Jailbreak Firmware 3.0 is possible

Only 1 day after the presentation of Apple, The iPhone Dev Team confirmed that you can jailbreak Firmware 3.0. However, those using 3G yellowsn0w are facing some restraints, as their baseband will be modified, the team advises these users to wait for PwnageTool to create a custom IPSW that avoids the baseband update. With all of the great stuff lined up for us with the 3.0 OS that Apple described today, many 3G owners may find themselves with itchy update fingers. If you find yourself with access to the 3G IPSW for 3.0 via the iPhone Dev Center program, and you are using yellowsn0w, do not update or restore to that official IPSW. You will lose yellowsn0w and find yourself unable to revert the baseband to get it back.
And for those wondering, yes the 3.0 OS is jailbreakable on all devices. It’s just those using 3G yellowsn0w that have to show some restraint and wait for PwnageTool to create a custom IPSW that avoids the baseband update.

WOW! So Apple didn’t make it more difficult to jailbreak 3.0? I thought they would. This is amazing! AND it makes me happier and confident to update when 3.0 is available in 3 months. I don’t need the unlock. I have AT&T. ;) But the jailbreak I DO need.
Someone who hasn’t jailbroken asked me what will be the point of jailbreaking after Apple has made so many additions FINALLY! I replied with “THEMING”. I love being able to alter the look of my icons, wallpaper, sounds, etc etc. Apple doesn’t seem to want to allow any app to do this in the app store. Aside from theming, stuff like SBPrefs, BossPrefs, Supreme Preferences etc make jailbreaking worth it. So YA I am still going to jailbreak when I am able to get 3.0
Stuff like copy/paste that I use now (CLIPPY) are sweet. It’s just about time Apple decided to do it. I use iBluetooth to transfer files through the iPhone bluetooth and I love it. It looks like Apple will have something similar in 3.0. SWEET! All this is great. MMS I haven’t really used at all. I have SwirlyMMS but don’t use it cause I have to add some type of plan to my AT&T and I haven’t gotten around to it lol. With Apple adding MMS I wonder if I’ll still have to add some sort of plan to my AT&T plan.
Anyway JAILBREAKING IS STILL WORTH IT! :D

dude if jailbrake wasnt possible, it would sale 50% less. Jailbrake is the top notch selling strategy.
