G-Map version 2.1 (Bug Fixes + turn-by-turn navigtion)
X-Road has released a new version of their navigation app called G-Map 2.1. In this latest update a lot of bugs have been fixed and new features like: Turn by turn directions, POI’s, Current-speed display, search of addresses, detours and types of roads that can be avoided have been added.
The G-Map application is the first on-board GPS navigation solution to be made available for iPhone and iPod Touch download. This cutting-edge GPS-enabled application features an intuitive user interface with functions essential to the mobile consumer. Unlike other network mobile navigation services, there is no monthly fee involved and it makes instant route guidance without interruption. No internet or wi-fi connection needed to get you to the desired destination.
What’s new in this version?
– Map view mode setting in 3 ways : North-up/Heading-up/3D view
– Turn by turn arrow on the navigation screen
– Improving Route Preview by correcting blinking problem of the current street
– Manual current location update function added
– Current-speed Display added in the View Map
– Revising UI button in Create Route into “Start†from “Doneâ€
– Immediate route guidance at View Map after functioning Current route > Reverse Route
Unfortunately the app is still missing voice prompts to let you know when the next turn is. X-Road claims that this missing feature is due to Apple strict strategy which prohibits any real time guidance.
G-Map is currently available for the United States and costs $19.99/regional map (Eastern & Western), Europe should be coming soon.
