Cydia – Psx4iPhone 0.7.0 firmware 2.x compatible

In the beginning days of iPhoneFreakz we followed the jailbreak scene really up close and personal. One of the top developer in the pre firmware 2.0 era was ZodTTD. He is the creator of about every emulator that is available for the iPhone and iPod touch. Today i’m happy to announce that Psx4iPhone (the playstation 1 emulator) has been released into cydia.
I already wrote some articles about psx4iPhone that you can find back here.
Psx4iPhone 0.7.0 supports BIN,ISO, IMG and compressed Z/ZNX files from PocketIso.
Another thing that has been revamped is the user interface. It’s much more strict than the older pre firmware 2.0 version.
Before you can run the app, make sure you have the bios.
You can find it here.
Make sure you copy the bios file to /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/
After you have done this, upload a ROM to that directory ‘/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/’
Roms can be found here or here.
I wasn’t able to get any games working but i’ll post some screenshots of the app anyway. If you get something running, please comment in the forum what games that are working and what aren’t.

Final Fantasy 5 (or was it 6?) is running. On version 0.7 the cut scene at the beginning is reeeeeeally laggy, but on the new version (came out tonight) 0.8 it is much smoother.

i dont understand how to add the games.. do you have to download like.. all parts of the isos for the game to work at all? and do you have to put them in the same folder or something? or do you just throw them all in the psx folder?

You throw them all into the psx folder

Got twisted metal to work just had to wait a few seconds for it to start, it ran smoothly, but why the white controls? Because of 2.2?

It means SSH into it by installing openSSH via cydia then getting cyberduck (or windows equivalent) and navigating to var/mobile/media/roms/psx
