Podcaster is an app which can download Podcasts easily on your iPhone without the need of a computer. You don’t need to subscribe the podcast on iTunes, just use Podcaster to download the newest podcast directly.

Unfortunately Podcaster has been denied access to the App Store by Apple.

This is the reply the developer got from Apple:
Since Podcaster assists in the distribution of podcasts, it duplicates the functionality of the Podcast section of iTunes.

It doesn’t duplicate – it improves upon. This filtering process is getting beyond a joke. Developers should all distribute their apps using Cydia – no filtering process, customers can try before they buy, and it’s much harder to pirate the paying apps on Cydia.

Man that’s funny! From a company standpoint I can kind of understand why Apple declined that app… They probably don’t want any competition. However, there is still Cydia and Installer. Which will probably be more a viable option for users like us in the long run with an app like this. I don’t really watch podcasts. But if I see this one on Cydia I will be looking at podcasts for sure from my iPhone.
