A toggle has recently been released in Cydia and Installer called KeyVib. This toggle makes your iPhone vibrate whenever you type. By tapping on the icon, you enable it/disable it. You then restart your phone to see the changes.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks off of another Cydia repo, and I have seen absolutely no battery drain from it. Other individuals may have experienced different, but that’s just me. It also feel pretty nice to feel some tactile feedback when you press a key. Although, with the buggy 2.0 software, it does lag some when typing gets backed up.

KeyVib is in the iSpazio source.

This is the first decent haptic feedback implementation I’ve seen. I tried it and the feedback is instantaneous and short. If it wasn’t for one small problem I’d be having it on as default. Basically, the vibration only works when keyboard clicks are turned on, so if you put your phone on silent or turn off keyboard clicks in Setting > Sounds, you get no feedback at all. I would like to be able to have vibration feedback *instead* of the “slightly annoying when typing a long text in a quiet room” geiger counter noise. Also, a restart isn’t necessary, a respring using bossprefs is sufficient for the change to take effect. The developer could probably quite easily include a killall springboard command or something like that into the code and remove the need for a restart. I think I’ll get in touch with the developer with these suggestions, because if implemented (the first one especially), this could be one popular app.

clearly, uninstalling it doesn’t not turn off the vibration

I agree- would be even more effective if keys vibrate even when keyboard clicks are turned off!!
