This isn’t the most recent news, but i wanted to post it just for reference.

In a few months the locoGPS will be received, so what’s so special about this GPS??

First of all, the locogps is not an application that you will need to install on your iPhone or iPod touch.

The locogps is actually a hardware dongle with wi-fi that has a webserver running on it.
To run the app, you will need to browse to a page with safari.

Personally i don’t think this will work very well as you will probably have too much delay for fast navigation, but as i haven’t received a testing unit yet, i can’t really be sure.

Since firmware 1.1.3 you can pinpoint your location with google maps on your iPhone.

I found this an awesome tool but the problem is, that where i live, it’s far from exact. It shows me a circle of about the whole city, and honestly, i already know in what city i am.

In my search for something better, i found this little tool called Locate me.
It’s still not 100% accurate, but it shows me about 1 block of where i really are, and that is a huge improvement over the standard functionality of the google maps app.

Yesterday i found the package Make my day in the games section in installer.

The best way to explain how this works is to let the developers talk about it.

Sitting around one day, we wondered why there weren’t any choose-your-own-adventure DVDs around.

After a bit of research, we found some, but they all sucked.

The iPhone is a great device, however, it can be improved. Like the vibrate function is really short.
