The Iconfactory and its chief typist, Craig Hockenberry, have been hard at work on Twitterrific 1.1, a substantial update to their mobile Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod touch. Today they released the update and it features much smoother scrolling, larger tweet capacity, the ability to save pictures to the camera roll before uploading them to TwitPic, and secure HTTPS server communication.

Apple has posted the winners of the Apple Design Awards 2008. The yearly awards Apple gives to recognize technical excellence, innovation and outstanding achievment in software development. The cool thing for this year are the inclusions of iPhone applications.

Twitterrific is a fun application that lets you both read and publish posts or “tweets” to the Twitter community website. Yesterday it has been announced on the Apple WWDC as one of the apps that will be in the appstore.
