AreaMobile.de said, T-Mobile Austria briefly began advertising the new iPhone. The advertisement was quickly removed but stated that the new iPhone would have 32 GB of storage on board. Also, according to engadget.com, Vodafone sent out an e-mail to companies who sell iPhones, to tell them the 16Gb iPhone has been marked “end of life” by their supplier. These new developements could be true and are consistent with other rumors.

The iPhone AppStore is not the first mobile storefront for downloadable applications, but it is the first with mainstream appeal. Other carriers and mobile manufacturers are trying to replicate Apple’s success with the AppStore. The first out of the door to follow on Apple’s coattails is Google’s Android Marketplace. Like Apple, it will host a flurry of applications for any device running Google’s open-source Android Operating System, a competitor to the iPhone and iPod Touch which run a modified code of OS X. Unlike Apple, the Android Marketplace will host trials and demos, but may irritate developers of free software by charging them for free apps that make use of T-Mobile’s network with the G1, the first Android phone.

T-Mobile today announced that the iPhone 3G will be available in The Netherlands starting at just 1 euro for the 8 GB version with a subscription plan. Dutch T-Mobile customers can choose between three price plans starting at €29,95 a month and up to €64,95. Also included is unlimited data at a speed of 2048 kbps download and 384 kbps, free Visual Voicemail and unlimited use of T-Mobile Hotspots in The Netherlands (currently around 1,400 hotspots).

T-mobile has announced the prices for the iPhone 3G. According to the german website Welt Online the new prices are very low. If you take the Complete XL package for 3 years, you even get the iPhone 3G for free! If you take the cheapest subscription you will have to pay about 169€ for the 8GB iPhone 3G version.

Head of Deutsche Telekom, Rene Oberman, confirmed that in Germany they sold just about 100.000 iPhone’s.
During a meeting with shareholders, the head of T-Mobile Germany, iPhone’a considered to be “the most popular multimedia gadget” in the history of the company.
