The iPhone DevTeam has updated redsn0w to v0.9.11b4 which completes the tethered JB support for 5.1.1 on A4 devices and earlier, including proper “Stitching” and “Custom” creation of NO_BB IPSWs.

@pod2g has made a Untethered Jailbreak solution available for non-A5 devices. That means iPad 2 and iPhone 4S are obviously left out on this one, but the chronic devteam and iPhone devteam have been working hard to package it into redsn0w 0.9.1.0 and PwnageTool for everyone else. A beta version of redsn0w, version 0.9.6b1 has just been released by the Dev-Team. Redsn0w, version 0.9.6b1 enables you to jailbreak the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G on iOS 4.1 or 4.0.
