iphone3gsAccording to a report from The Globe and Mail, wireless providers Bell and Telus will begin selling the iPhone in Canada next month. That’s when Roger’s iPhone exclusivity arrangement, started in July 2008, ends.

3gsorangeSo, the UK is going to have another carrier to deliver the iPhone. Their current iPhone carrier is O2, but later this year Orange will join the club. There are already a couple of countries who have more than one carrier for the iPhone, like Italy and Czechia. Maybe this can change some things elsewhere in the world. Maybe Verizon can join the club in the US.

The French mobile operator Orange will sell the iPhone 3G unlocked. The 8 GB version will make you about €509 (802$ !!!!) poorer and for the 16GB iPhone 3G you will have to cough up 609€ (960$ !!!!). Belgium is expected to have to pay roughly the same, this is due to the fact that selling Sim-locked devices are illegal. The iPhone 3G will be available starting from 17th of July in France.

Orange has officially announced that they will release the iPhone in Austria, Portugal and Switzerland, on July 11th. France will be receiving the iPhone the 17th July. Orange customers in the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Luxembourg, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Orange’s African markets can purchase iPhone later this year.

Breaking News:
France telecom announced that they will be bringing the iPhone to Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia,
Switzerland and Orange’s African markets later this year.
So i’m getting the 3G finally official in my own country :)
