The Wall Street Journal reports that the next generation iPhone will use “in-cell” technology to make the screen thinner. “Japanese liquid-crystal-display makers Sharp Corp. and Japan Display Inc.—a new company that combined three Japanese electronics makers’ display units—as well as South Korea’s LG Display Co. are currently mass producing panels for the next iPhone using so-called in-cell technology, the people said.” This new technology will not only reduced thickness, it would also improve the image quality. » Next iPhone Has Thinner & Higher Quality Screen

Gizmodo is a good sport and now features his work on a white iPhone mockup, which looks pretty darn good to our eyes. Macotakara has posted a video showing a glass panel for the next generation iPhone. In a comparison with the current iPhone Glass Panel it looks like there is about a centimeter difference.

9to5mac posted some images of a comparison between the black and white versions of the next-generation iPhone back. “The black and white coloring is, of course, a trim, and a large portion of the back – as you can see – is made out of metal.
