Firmware 2.1 beta already showed us some very nice upcoming features like improved GPS functions, (turn-by-turn gps), a presumably copy&paste function and now they found a new reference string that points to a new iPod. The reference is ‘iPod2,1′.

SharePod is a lightweight music management program for your iPod. You can copy music and videos between your iPod and computers usually without having to install anything on the computer. The good part is that since version SharePod 3.8.4 Beta2 the iPhone and iPod Touch are supported.

Croiman is up to it again.
Some days ago he released Psycho Super Prefs upon us, and today he released his music player mod.
I won’t talk much about it but i’ll show you the screens so you can decide if you like it or not

ZodTTD is at it again! This time they build an application called temper4iphone, which ports temper (a TurboGrafx-16 emulator) to the iphone and ipod touch.
The application is currently still in beta. The developer released the beta to a handful of people to review test and comment it. Games like Bonk, Die-Hard, R-Type and many more are playable through the touchscreen with good graphics and controls. PocketTouch is a tool made to make the controlling of your iPhone or iPod touch much easier when it’s in your pocket.
PocketTouch let’s you control your music with gestures (swipes) and taps on the screen.
The app works but i did have some issues. (expecting update any time)
When you shake your device, the application crashed.
Nevertheless this app can be very handy if you are doing some sports. There’s no need to get the iPhone or iPod out of your pocket. If you’d like to skip a track.. just swipe your finger over the screen to the right and the next song will play.

I’ve tried it but with my settings its not working. i Guess this must be due to the fact that i’m running Customize or smbprefs.

A chinese developer created handwriting recognition software, for latin and chinese characters.
The app is called HWPen and it gives you a writing area instead of the default keyboard.
The version is still beta 1.0 but it kinda works, i personally still prefer the keyboard, but some of you will prefer this solution.
Some downsides…
The recognition doesn’t work in the mail-app and in landscape mode, but as this is still beta.. i’m pretty sure that the next versions will solve these little problems.
