Google has been making all of their popular web-apps compatible with the iPhone. Let’s just think about google docs, google mail, etc.. The newest member of the iPhone compatible club is Google Translate. It’s not yet possible to translate full web-pages from within the web application. But if you quickly need to translate something then google translate is what you need.

I found this video while browsing the net for some new iPhone related news. It’s not new, it has been out for some days now but for the people who haven’t seen it, i’d still like to share it. The video shows us a real life scenario of loading pages on the iPhone 3G over the cellular data and it compares this with the Apple Ad’s of the iPhone 3G.

Best Buy received the green light to start selling the iPhone 3G in all of their branch stores. The official announcment will probably be today. Best Buy will be the first 3rd party U.S. retailer that will be selling the iPhone 3G. From 7 september you will be able to walk in any of the 970 Best Buy store’s and walk out with a new iPhone 3G.

A new application has been released with the name SIMable. It supposedly unlocks the iPhone 3G to all carriers. The video after the break shows you a iPhone 3G unlocked on the network of VodaFone in Ireland. This is off course not possible without a unlock solution as O2 has been appointed the official iPhone 3G reseller in Ireland.

Lenovo Summer Olympics is a new free app in the App Store that will allow you to follow the olympic games very close-by. The creators Zumobi made this widget/app by request of Intel and Lenovo. The app is free but cause it’s free it will show you the occasional ad of Lenovo or Intel. Other than this the app is great if your a olympic games fan.

Google Docs is one of those web application that I personally use a lot. Only 1 downside. You need to be connected to the internet to view and or edit them. MiGhtyDocs solves this problem. It syncs your documents to your iPhone for later offline viewing. This way you can always cary the latest version of your documents with you.

NetSketch is a new App Store application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to do some colaborative drawing over wi-fi. NetSketch allows you to draw on the iPod’s screen using a full range of colors and brush sizes. You can share drawings over the wireless network, and others using the NetSketch application can contribute to your work. As you draw, everyone’s changes are reflected in real time.
