The Firmware 2.0 jailbreak community is slowly but certainly getting very cool apps. Today ZodTTD did it again. This time he ported Quake to the iPhone. I’ve played the game for some minutes and the first thing that i noticed is how smooth it runs (audio + fps). ZodTTD made this game highly playable on the iPhone except for 1 little issue. When you pay the game you can’t see the full screen as your fingers cover parts of the screen.

For all of us with Firmware 2.0 and Cydia, there’s good news. The first applications are starting to get released through Cydia. The first game released in Cydia is MacMan. MacMan is a PacMan clone kind of game that uses the accelerometer to be controlled. Cydia on Firmware 2.0 promises to be a good source of Apps for our Jailbroken firmware 2.0 iPhone (3G).

Some days ago i had a very interesting meeting with the people from iPhoneClub.nl. We were mainly speculating what the iPhone is going to bring us in the near future, especially with firmware 2.0 and the appstore coming up. After talking for about an hour we decided it might be nice if we asked the developers their point of view regarding the upcoming appstore and the future of jailbreaking. After some quick decisions regarding the questions, I briefly wrote a e-mail addressed to several developers.
