As you know may know, AT&T confirmed that they sold out of their complete stock of iPhone 4 pre-orders. Apple just announced that more than 600,000 pre-orders were placed in one day for the iPhone 4, that’s a record for Apple. Now the iPhone 4 pre-orders are sold out, Apple apologizes for the problems many customers experienced trying to place orders.
Yesterday Apple and its carrier partners took pre-orders for more than 600,000 of Apple’s new iPhone 4. It was the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions. Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration. AT&T just confirmed that they sold out of their complete stock of iPhone 4 pre-orders. Congratulations to the guys that where able to place their pre-order before 1:30PM Pacific Time, if you didn’t you will not get your iPhone 4 on June 24th.
“Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We’ll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. The iPhone App Skype has been updated “to 2.0” and now allows calls using AT&T’s 3G data network. Unfortunately there is also some bad news. VoIP calls over AT&T’s 3G data network is only free till “at least” August 2010, after that you need a mobile subscription. The quality of Voice Calls over 3G is surprisingly good. There is no information about how much the mobile subscription will cost.
According to Boy Genius Report AT&T has told his employees that the iPhone is actually coming and they need to prepare for the iPhone launch this June.
Title says it all, but you didn’t really need a confirmation, did you? The phone will be available for purchase in June, not July, and from what we’ve heard, it won’t even be late June.
Just like they do every time a new iPhone get launched, AT&T has blocked all employee vacations in June. The next gen iPhone will probably be announced on June 7th by Steve Jobs during the Keynote.
Responding to price cuts from Verizon, AT&T today rolled out new unlimited plans for all devices on its network, including the iPhone. Under the new plans taking effect on Monday, iPhone customers can sign up for unlimited voice and data for $99.99 per month, although texting packages remain separate for an additional fee. AT&T has made an Ad to convince people that they have the fastest network compared to the network of Verizon. At&T claims they have the fastest 3G speeds.
