Research firm Kantar Worldpanel has released data about the Smartphone market share for the September-November period in 2011 and 2012. It shows that Apple has set a record high with 53.3% of the market, compare to 35.8% one year ago. However, Apple is doing less in Europe, where it grow 2.5% compared to last year. The Wall Street Journal reports that Google is working on a new phone, via its newly acquired Motorola Mobility and will be released next year. The phone “codenamed X Phone” is designed to compete more strongly with the iPhone, and Samsung’s Galaxy line, than Motorola’s current lineup. The Brazilian electronics maker IGB Electronica SA has just announced that they will release a new line of Android phones under the IPHONE brand. The trademark “IPHONE” was originally applied for by the Brazil company back in 2000. Proview “a company in China” owned the “iPad” trademark and Apple ended up paying that company $60 million to gain control of the ‘iPad’ trademark.
