I have no idea of this is authentic, but it appears that the french blog got some pictures of an anonymous source regarding the 3G iphone.
The design looks pretty much like what has been leaked on the net (see my previous post regarding this).

With all the rumors coming and going, one starts to doubt about every new rumor that rises.
However sometimes a rumor pop’s up that sounds credible.
I do believe that this rumor might be true.

An image has been released on the web and it shows the iPhone2 new dimensions.
So what’s new and what changes?

The tapering is the first thing you see, it’s the curve of the edges on the iPhone.

The second screen shows us the new positioning of the sensors (light, proximity and probably a new one which might be the second camera)

Rumor number 21232341234123123……

AT&T, The U.S. exclusive iPhone partner of Apple, will lower the price of the new 3G iPhone to a very minimal 199$ some sources say.

AT&T is preparing to subsidize $200 of the cost of a new iPhone, bringing the price down to $199 for customers who sign two-year contracts, the source says. Apple is expected to have two versions of the new iPhone, an 8-gigabyte-memory and a 16-gigabyte-memory model with price tags widely expected to be $399 and $499.

So says the Techland blog on the site.

According to Fortune, AT&T’s going to further subsidize the iPhone down as much as $200, making the final retail price a scant $199 with two-year-contract. The rumor is that the $200 bonus will only be available in AT&T stores, not in Apple stores, so people buying and exporting or using it with T-Mobile will be paying the higher price. Current first-gen iPhone users probably won’t get this $200 subsidy when upgrading either, unless perhaps they renew for another 2 years. Fortune’s source also says that the phone will have GPS and be 2.5mm thinner, not thicker as previously indicated. And you’ll know when the new phone is coming—Apple will cut off shipments of the old phone in order to clear up inventory and give a subtle hint that you should wait before buying.

The analyst from Citi report that the 3G iPhone will be announced on june 9th.
Richard Gardner and Yeechang Lee believe that Steve Jobs will announche the new product on his keynote speech.
Personally I’m pretty convinced that this will be the case.
Some analysts also suggest that the 3G iPhone will be released in June or July.
A coincidence or not but the end of the price reduction of the current iPhone ends in July.
Europe hasn’t been a very profitable market for Apple, mainly cause almost every country in europe has an advanced 3G network, and the iPhone is still only 2.5G.
this may change very fast when a 3G model has been released to the public in Europe.
We’ll have to wait and see, but with all the rumors coming out, it’s highly unlikely that the 3G iPhone won’t see it’s debute in June.

We already posted the news about Italia getting a 3g iphone without contract in June.
Today some other countries are supposably getting the 3g iPhone without contract.

The news site is rumoring that the 3 major carriers will be releasing the 3G iphone in June.
Mobistar will however have the scoop for the first xx weeks or months and it could be as soon as May!
This solution is probably forced to Apple, as in Belgium it’s not allowed by law to sell locked phones.

Some other reports are claiming that this will be the same for India and Australia later this year.
