Apple product head Greg Joswiak responded questions regarding the iPhone firmware 2.0. The first question that everybody wants to have answered is ‘Why isn’t there cut and paste?’ Apple has a priority list of features, and they got as far as they could down that list with this model, Joswiak answered. In other words, they don’t have anything against cut and paste. They just judged other things to be more important.
What’s the deal with GPS driving directions? Many developers have said that Apple’s SDK license agreement prohibits the development of driving-directions apps, and the New York Times’s David Pogue muddied the waters by saying that the iPhone’s GPS isn’t physically capable of providing driving directions. “According to Apple, the iPhone’s G.P.S. antenna is much too small to emulate the turn-by-turn navigation of a G.P.S. unit for a vehicle,” Pogue wrote.
That’s wrong, Joswiak said; the iPhone’s GPS is just like the GPS in other phones, many of which do provide driving directions. Rather, there are some murky “complicated issues” preventing driving directions apps at the moment. “It will evolve. I think our developers will amaze us,” he said.
Okay, so where’s the iPhone office suite? Joswiak said he didn’t know of any such hold-ups, but then added that there might be issues with applications each having their own file space. “There’s no cross-application file structure,” he said.

There are two issues missing, first why all modern cellphones has a file system to store images, videos, documents and anything we want and iphone doesn’t? And why is the bluetooth so handicapped?

That’s not a reasonable answer, they could just block the music library, but not photos and videos, and essentially documents, and what about A2DP?
No cut and paste is a big deal for many. I still don’t understand why Apple didn’t include this. But then again, that is Apple for you; they include what THEY want you to have, not what you want. That’s how it is with all of their products.
They are leading the market in terms of mobile browser and thats it. Most other phones completely blow the iPhone away in other features. If they want to stay competitive, especially when Android officially launches, they better get a move on. I want Apple to succeed here to foster a more competitve atmosphere that will push other phone/software makers to push their products to new heights.
