For those of you that have been upset with Installer 4 recently, here is the new update. Read on for new features taken from rip-devs blog.
- Many visual enhancements and fixes in regards to source and packages display.
- Fixed an issue with failing installs with dependencies under some circumstances.
- Fixed a bug causing package information to be displayed incorrectly (size 0 bytes) on the first access, or when the custom information HTML page (such as packages from Big Boss’ repository) was not displayed.
- When updating a package, and one of its dependencies also has an update available, the dependency will be updated as well.
- The package icons will only be downloaded when on the Wi-Fi to help you save on bandwidth.
- The repositories are being refreshed upon Installer.app launch so you always stay on the bleeding edge with the updates. This is exeperimental behavior and we’re not yet sure it will make it to the final release.
- Fixed a script command Confirm that was returning invalid button index for the “OK” button.
- Lots and lots of both cosmetic and internal application core fixes that improve the overall performance, presentation and stability of the application.
There has also been an update to the community sources repo that adds a repo for modmyifone and iphone-notes.de that has a BSD subsystem and openSSH and other useful stuff.
How do I update? It seems this release fixes some of the bugs I was complaining about
But I just refreshed my sources and it doesnt say its been updated. Someone should but in Cydia

still beta, hope it becomes better, for now cydia still better, i think they forgot the search option that many complain about even in v3.x, and the more info button is still too small
i agree. i had hoped it would at least have the a-z keys on the right so that its easier to search through. they probably thought that their werent enough apps to bother with so they didnt include it.
Still doesn’t fix the insane sluggish speed when there’s more than 2 apps listed.
Still sticking with Cydia for now. To be honest, I don’t see what Installer is adding to the 2.0 scene that Cydia isn’t already doing, and much better. Wish they would all just move over to that.
Y3k-Bug, I am with you - Cydia has improved, caught up and now passed Installer as far as I am concerned. But damn, I still refresh installer hoping it will be like the old days
There is a problem while i refresh sources.Everytime it’s stucked at the same time.
Yeah! i’m having the same problem with just opening up installer and it freezing.
Still Cydia for me, installer appears to be stuck at 1.1.4
Cydia has it made on 2.0. Installer is falling behind the power curve.
hmmm with this new update installer seems to freeze everytime i open it up and it refreshes sources, any1 else noticing this?
since updating I can’t uninstall??? It says uninstall respring and still loaded.

also don’t even try to open on edge it just freezes trying to refresh sources. This update goes backwards. The previous beta atleast worked and uninstalled apps well.
it doesnt matter weather ur on edge or wifi it always freezez up
hahaha sucks for you guys I created a mod version of intall 3.0 to work with version 2.0. And its for personal use

To be honest, Cydia is far beyond installer, if it wasnt for all the sources that developers who are not giving cydia a chance and keep going with installer, it wouldve been dead for the 2.0
true. The sources are the only saving grace but now u can’t even delete themif u want too. Lmao
