Remote Controlling your computer.
Touchpad Pro is an application that allows you to control your computer from your iphone/ipod touch.

The application supports Windows as well as MAC, using a VNC server.
Being at version 4.22, the application has encountered quite some bux-fixes and features which makes it more reliable to work with.
UPDATE 4.30 -> The developer fixed some issues with screen resolutions (eg 1440*900)
The most important development is screenview, with screenview you are actually able to display your desktop on the screen of your iphone or ipod.

How does it work?
After you installed the application, you immediately bump into the downside of the application, you are asked to activate the product.
Unfortunately Touchpad Pro is not for free, it will cost you about €15,- to toy around with it.
After you have activated the application, you switch to your computer where you will have to download the necessary software to set up a VNC server (I believe MAC OS X already contains this software by default).
With UltraVNC from uvnc.com, you are able to set up a VNC server on your Windows desktop.
All you really do is install/start the program and make up/enter a password in the admin properties, then the software will run on the background in your system tray.
When you move your Mouse to the icon, it will show your local ip-address.
This is the address you will need for Touchpad Pro to connect.
Return to your iphone or ipod and add a new server.
Name the server and enter the local ip-address (without port numbers) where it says ‘hostname’, also enter the password from the VNC server on your desktop.
Then the Extra options are Screenview (preferably ‘ON’), Mac mode (in case you are using a Mac computer) and Mediaserver (this is a extra feature for touchpad pro that integrates with your favorite Music player, but it also costs extra money), select them to your preferences.
After you saved the server, you can press it to connect (make sure both your iphone/ipod and your computer are connected to the internet!).
When all goes well, your desktop screen will appear on your device and you are able to move the Mouse with your finger.
Touchpad pro also allows you to connect to your public ip-address.
This means you are able to connect to your computer from any network around the world. Unfortunately I haven’t got the time to mess with my router to forward the ports, but for a more detailed tutorial you can visit www.touchpadpro.com.
If you see yourself using this application on a daily basis, or you like to toy around with your ipod and PC like me, I would definitely buy this application.
If not, you can also try the VNSea application.

This app is available in the Installer.app through the BigBoss packaging source, see our sources page.
