Bigboss has warned that non developers should not install the new iPhone 3.0 OS. The beta firmware is only meant for developers and installing it on a live iPhone could cause some serious problems. Hit the break to see why.

According to the Australian blog Smarthouse, LG has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Apple to provide OLED screens for the next generation iPhones, iPod touches and notebooks.

Starting on March 26th AT&T will sell the 8GB and the 16GB iPhone 3G with no contract for $599 and $699. Besides the no-commitment part AT&T will also not require any in store activation. That means you can get the handset and activate it later on. Unfortunately you won’t be able to buy iPhones in bulk as there’s a one per line rule in effect. Some beta testers of the iPhone OS 3.0 found out 2 new services in the MobileMe settings. The first one is a nice option called “Find My iPhone” which enables you to trace your iPhone via gps. The second one they discoverd is when going to publish an image there is an option that says “Publish Video”!! which means that you will probably be able to record a video directly from your iPhone! Apple’s iPhone OS 3.0 Beta pre-installation advisory document states that once you’ve updated a device it will be in a locked state with no way of going back to an earlier firmware. Well Ralf Rottmann has tried after restoring Beta 3.0 to downgrade his 2G iPhone back to 2.0.

Only 1 day after the presentation of Apple, The iPhone Dev Team confirmed that you can jailbreak Firmware 3.0. However, those using 3G yellowsn0w are facing some restraints, as their baseband will be modified, the team advises these users to wait for PwnageTool to create a custom IPSW that avoids the baseband update.
