There are many, many, many apps. Most of them run on all the different iPod Touch and iPhone versions. But slowly a new branch is being formed: games specifically designed for the iPhone 3GS. The company Mad Monkey Studios promises to build games only for the iPhone 3GS. They want to take advantage of the better graphics processor and other features only the 3GS has. And they present a video in which they show the processor speed of the 3GS versus the 3G. It’s pretty clear (and to no surprise), that the framerate of the iPhone 3GS is much higher compared with the 3G.
Pocket God! Everybody knows that name. The title of an extremely popular game, about Pygmies who live on an island and are under the full control of you. When the game was first released it was simple, and for $0,99 it seemed a bit expensive for what you got. But with the weekly updates the game quickly became one of the most popular and addictive apps in the App Store. Although the game will stay popular, maybe a new game turns out to be a huge hit. It’s created by Mountain Sheep and released by Chillingo ltd. and goes by the name ‘Minigore, episode 1’.
EA will release the first expansion pack for the Sims 3. The pack is called World Adventures and will be in stores on November 19th this year, both for PC and Mac. The mobile phone version (including the iPhone) however, is set to be released in early 2010. These versions will contain “special mobile game elements”. The game elements will be annoucned in the coming months. The idea behind Sims 3 World Adventures is, that the players along with their Sims, can go on adventures to areas far from Sunset Valley and Riverview.
I like time management games. I have 7 of those type of games but I’m probably going to add another two. They’re called ‘Farm Frenzy’ and ‘Ranch Rush’. Both games have gotten very positive reactions. On the French website Nowhere Else, a video demo of a gamepad controller for the iPhone and iPod Touch appeared. This is an accessory that makes it possible to control some games with a joypad. Very handy for soccer or racegames for example.
Wizard Warfare seems to have amazing graphics and unique gameplay. The game is still in development but is approaching completion. Watch a video and read more about the gameplay below.
