In one of my last posts, I talked about how Aurora Feint had been removed from the App Store for security reasons. Well, as it turns out, the reason for Aurora Feint’s removal is all speculation. One of the developers of Aurora Feint commented the last post and gave me a link their official forum.

For all of us with Firmware 2.0 and Cydia, there’s good news. The first applications are starting to get released through Cydia. The first game released in Cydia is MacMan. MacMan is a PacMan clone kind of game that uses the accelerometer to be controlled. Cydia on Firmware 2.0 promises to be a good source of Apps for our Jailbroken firmware 2.0 iPhone (3G).

I stumbled upon this page today. It seems that the extremely popular iPhone/iPod touch game Aurora Feint creates a copy of your contacts (e-mail addresses + phonenumbers) and hides this in a ’secret’ directory on your iPhone. This in an of itself is a bit suspect, but alarm bells really began to go off when someone noticed that AF was sending that information to the Aurora Feint servers as well.
