The article mainly discusses that a lot of fake sites are trying to get money (donations) for all the work that the iPhone-Dev team does, but on the end of the article they have 1 very important line: but be prepared for some stuff from us today that is cool. They are probably talking about a updated QuickPwn version that is compatible with firmware 2.1 and most probably a hack for iTunes 8 so it will accept pwned firmwares again. A jailbreak has been discovered for the iPod Touch running firmware version 2.1. It is only for the iPod Touch, and is sort of tedious, but I’ve heard it gets the job done. The time has finally come. iPhone firmware version 2.1 has finally been released and features many bug fixes. Although, it does not contain advanced GPS features or Copy and Paste, which was one of the two most wanted items in this update. iFixit has dissasembled the second generation iPod Touch along with the new Nano, and have revealed that the iPod Touch 2G has a bluetooth chip built in! They haven’t determined yet whether it supports stereo headphones. » Bluetooth chip found in the iPod Touch 2G
iTunes8 has several new features for ex. the genius service. However some iPod Touch users are reporting another feature that wasn’t publicly announced. Some users tried to install iPhone only applications and they got a pop-up on iTunes that this was refused. It appears as all App’s that are dependent on either: Dial Zero, Distance, GPS Tracker, Jott, Kyte, Loopt, NetShare, Voice Notes and Wooo Button.

Several users have been reporting that iTunes 8.0 and Windows Vista (32 + 64 bit) is not working very well. The users are reporting several issues of BSOD (Blue screens of death). The issue happens when you connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to any Windows Vista based computer. Apple has aknowledged the issue and is currently working on a fix.

The rumour has been confirmed by Steve Jobs, the 4th generation iPod nano is skinny again and features an accelerometer for automatic switching between portrait and landscape modes. Holding the center button during a song brings up the Genius menu.
Ok it’s official. Apple representatves confirmed that the Nike+ integration only works with the new iPod Toch 2G. The iPhone and the iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch 1st Gen will not receive support for Nike+ as of yet. It has also been confirmed by Apple that the connector dongle will still not work on the iPhone and/or first gen iPod Touch.

Apple presented the new iPod Touch today duraping Steve’s ‘let’s rock’ keynote. What’s different about it? Well first of all, it doesn’t include GPS :(, but it does has a whole lot of new features. To start, the new iPod Touch is much thinner and it does look curved much like the iPhone 3G. The iPod Touch now has volume controls just like the iPhone.
