Apple’s iPhone OS 3.0 Beta pre-installation advisory document states that once you’ve updated a device it will be in a locked state with no way of going back to an earlier firmware. Well Ralf Rottmann has tried after restoring Beta 3.0 to downgrade his 2G iPhone back to 2.0.

Only 1 day after the presentation of Apple, The iPhone Dev Team confirmed that you can jailbreak Firmware 3.0. However, those using 3G yellowsn0w are facing some restraints, as their baseband will be modified, the team advises these users to wait for PwnageTool to create a custom IPSW that avoids the baseband update. iPhone developer Steve Troughton managed to activate the tethering preferences while playing with the new iPhone OS. He was also able to actually tether his iPhone 3G to his laptop over USB. Based on the preference panel, it appears that you will be able to tether via USB or Bluetooth.

Rip-Dev is back. Some days ago they announced a new product that will work kinda like the app store. The application called Installer App will have the posibility to download packages from Cydia and Installer straight to your desktop and then sync them to your iPhone or iPod touch.
