AptBackup is an application in Cydia that will make a backup of your Cydia installed apps, it does not make a backup of your actual applications or settings. It will make a list of everything you installed from Cydia and back that up. When you restore, it will reinstall all the packages in one step. The list is stored with other settings files and backed up with iTunes. When upgrading to 2.1 you can rapidly restore back your apps etc…although if you have a lot of apps and themes it could take some time.

Erica Sadun released also an updated version of Appflow which supports now the latest iPhone firmware 2.1. In this latest version, Erica, improved also the icons which are more nicely now.

Intelliborn released an updated version of IntelliScreen. Intelliscreen 2.1 is now compatible with the iPhone firmware 2.1. In this latest version they have improved some bugfixes and the performance.
IntelliScreen customizes your “Slide to Unlock” screen allowing you to load widgets onto that otherwise unused space. Options include listing calendar events, mail subjects, SMS messages, weather reports and RSS news feeds.

My Football is the name of a new soccer application that will be released by Supportware. My Football is different and broader than already the available iFutbol. All the major competitions are there with even a Live button where users can see the score of the matches that are currently underway. While watching one game you’ll be able to check the results of another match, played at the same time.

A new remote application has surfaced into the App Store just days after Apple released their Remote 1.1. This time the application released is called XBMC Remote. For all of ou Xbox modders this will become recognized as a Xbox Media Center remote. The cool thing is that XBMC has been ported to Mac, Linux and Windows too.

Veency is the name of the latest application that has been released today by Saurik, the author and maintainer of Cydia. Veency provides a VNC remote desktop server for your iPhone, allowing you to view the iphone springboard and everything else on it via your Mac/PC with any VNC client.

Earthscape, the popular iPhone-application that displays a Google Earth-like world on to your iPhone, is available for free for a short time. The normal price for this app is 4,99$ or €3,99! Earthscape shows you a spinning world on which you can pan and zoom onto some locations. GiGaOM had a interview with the director of Skype (Josh Silverman). One of the questions that is on everyones lipes is the fact if Skype will ever make it to the iPhone and/or the iPod Touch. A part of the interview follows next: “We need to be on all devices…Skype needs to be everywhere,” he said.
