Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) will start sales of Apple’s iPhone 3G handset at midnight tonight local time but users who buy the phones won’t get support for visual voicemail or access to videos and music sold on the iTunes Store.”On launch, customers will not be able to buy content from the iTunes store. However, they will be able to buy applications from the Apple application store,” SingTel said, adding that visual voicemail will not be offered in Singapore.

Let me tell you something about the columbus egg and quickpwn.
Quickpwn works exactly on the same principle of ZiPhone:it creates a ramdisk and executes it. In the crafted ramdisk a patcher modifies the OS for activation. It’s conceptually a good work (ZiPhone was indeed a good work).

Not much is known about the workings of the app, will it support the current dongle for the iPod Nano or will you have to buy a new module?

After some trail and error it appears that you can easily QuickPwn the newest firmware 2.0.2. To accomplish this all you have to do is upgrade to firmware 2.0.2 from within iTunes and then start the QuickPwn application. Make sure the firmware you have in the QuickPwn directory is firmware 2.0.1!

Well Apple has released the iPhone firmware update version 2.0.2. This update only includes bug fixes. This firmware version will not be compatible with PwnageTool or WinPwn; It is also not compatible with QuickPwn. Apple has seeded the iPhone 2.1 firmware beta 4 to those four thousand lucky individuals. Apple has simply once again marked this as “bug fixes”. What is new is that Apple has removed the push notification service “for further development”. The push notification service has been included since the first beta release and is expected to have a public release in September.
