TouchArcade wrote an extensive review about Ngmoco’s hit game “Eliminate”. I played the game myself and have gotten pretty used to the controls. The game’s graphics are awesome and the game runs very smooth on my iPhone 3GS. I like that you can play against others around the world and against friends. The credit system is smart, but I think the In-App Purchasing part is too expansive. Paying $0,99 for only 20 power cells, while you need 12 power cells to completely re-power your suite seems pretty useless. On the other hand, playing the game for a day made me an addict. I’d really like to rise to the top members. Seems I have a long way to go.Below is a part of the long review from TouchArcade:
“We felt somewhat obligated to review a game as huge asEliminate Pro [App Store]. Following its epic development cycle, it’s hard to think of many other games which were as highly anticipated among our community. But it’s not just Touch Arcade forum members who have been waiting forEliminate, as countless other developers have all been anxiously holding their breath to see how successful the microtransaction-powered gameplay is from a business perspective.
If it wasn’t apparent by now from reading our other coverage on the game, we really enjoy Eliminate. The classic four player deathmatch gameplay is enhanced with an RPG-style progression system which adds a great deal of depth to an otherwise simple game. Power-ups littered throughout the maps spice up battles, and when it’s working as intended, the matchmaking system seems to do a decent job of making sure the game you get thrown in to is reasonably matched…”

The game is awesome! Best iPhone game I have played. The energy is expensive, but the game is a blast even at the lower levels, so it is not a huge issue to just enjoy playing while you slowly advance. With that being said, I purchased some energy to reward an excellent product and to get access to the better weapons from leveling!
Pay system is crap. A full recharge costs 12 power cells and a full charge only gives you 3 games. Its way to expensive.
Yeah the game is fun…add my name borgqueenx if you want to lose :)
but im not buying energy until they give more gametime for my money. Or let us use less powercells to power my suit and weapons. Or just drop the price.
