The iPhone production will be 20% higher then before due to the holiday season. This probably leads to a shortage of CMOS camera sensors from the manufacturer OmniVision Technologies.
OmniVision Technologies warns her customers about the tight stock of CMOS-sensors. This shortage is probably going to last till the end of November. Foxconn Electronics and Primax Electronics, two other manufacturers of iPhone parts, will probably be able to handle to high demand of those sensors. Apple is trying to get a higher stock of iPhones because of the holiday season. Last quarter Apple sold 7,4 million iPhones.
First there’s a shortage of NAND flash memory and now this. So what is next?
