EA’s Rock Band In App Store, Only For US For Now “iPhone 4G Being Tested” By……Verizon!!!

True Augmented Reality. Is that something new? Not really, it’s just augmented reality but not like the apps in the App Store that use this technology. Apps like Layar uses a browser to display extra information on top of the real live footage that your iPhone-camera sees. Soon you will see apps that use AR in whole different ways then before.

As you can see in the video above, AR can be used to draw things on a piece of paper. Your iPhone-camera sees the picture and the app that uses AR creates a 3D image of the drawn image. It can even simulate gravity, to show how the drawn object falls.

In the second video you can see that drawn objects immediately come to life. You will be able to animate drawn objects exploiting the laws of physics. Researchers at Visual Media Lab started this project and declared that they had already made it perfectly compatible for the iPhone.

The source code for iPhone OS 3.1 has been made freely available for everyone. The code can be requested by sending an email to this address: comogard@gmail.com
